Sonja’s practice provides specialist care that is focused on the psychotherapeutic treatment of complex and protracted psychological complaints and problems. However, her practice is not the appropriate place for those suffering from acute psychosis, suicidality (crisis), severe contact disorder (autism), ADHD, or substance abuse.
Her primary practice is depth psychology within a psychodynamic framework, both individually and in groups. Clients are encouraged to share their inner life. This might occur by means of the word, through images, the body, sensorially or through movement. By using these methods, she works on the assumption that, that which is needed to resurface and to unfold, will make itself known. In such a way both the inner world and the everyday life of the client, as well as in the relationship with the therapist, will be revealed. Thus, therapy may be a place where one learns to investigate, to become aware of and to come to terms with the experiences, and to integrate them into one’s personality, furthering psychological wholeness and individuation.
